Emilia-Romagna Beaches

Discover Emilia-Romagna and its best beaches

Emilia-Romagna is a region in northern Italy, known for the variety of its natural environments. The Po Valley, located in the northern part of the region, is the area where some of the most important rivers of the beautiful country such as the Po, Reno and Secchia can be found.
The hills of Emilia, located in the central part of the region, are famous for the production of fine wines such as Lambrusco and Pignoletto, making it an excellent destination for food and wine tourism with numerous agritourisms and wineries open to the public.

The Romagna Riviera has always been synonymous with sun, sea, carefree living, comfort and entertainment. The coast overlooks the Adriatic Sea and extends for about 200 km, from the border with Tuscany to the border with Marche. For those who love beach life, golden sand, parties until dawn and warm hospitality, the Riviera is a true treasure trove where the blue of the sea meets the gastronomic excellence of the territory. The most famous beaches are certainly those located in the southern part of the coast: Cervia, Cesenatico, Rimini, Riccione and Cattolica. This is because they are associated with some of the most organized and well-equipped seaside resorts in Italy: the quantity of services available, such as free beach Wi-Fi, accommodation facilities, bathing establishments and commercial activities make these destinations lively, attractive and perfect for anyone who wants to fully immerse themselves in the typical scene of the Italian summer. There are also free areas and those designed specifically for our four-legged friends.
This applies equally to families with children and young people, whose undisputed kingdom is Milano Marittima, a famous capital of nightlife and entertainment, as well as more glamorous and exclusive tourism.

Going up the coast, in the area between Rovigo and Ravenna, you will encounter the "Lidi Ferraresi", also known as the magnificent seven, which extend for 25 km: Lido di Volano, Lido di Pomposa, Lido delle Nazioni, Lido degli Scacchi, Porto Garibaldi, Lido degli Estensi and Lido di Spina offer golden beaches, transparent waters and natural reserves with still pristine corners.
In general, the Emilia-Romagna coast is sandy and characterized by large beaches and very shallow bottoms, typical of the Adriatic. The high-quality tourist offer and the guarantee of organized events and activities attract thousands of tourists every year.
