Marche Beaches
Discover Marche and its best beaches
The Marche region is an Italian region located in the east of the country, along the Adriatic coast. The landscape of the Marche region is diverse and offers a wide range of natural beauty, from promontories to medieval villages, from large natural parks to idyllic seaside resorts overlooking the sea.
The Apennine mountain range crosses the entire region from north to south, with hills covered with vineyards and olive groves offering a panoramic view of the valleys and the sea. The valleys of the Marche region are rich in rivers and streams, which cross the countryside and offer an ideal environment for fishing and hiking. In particular, the Potenza Valley is famous for its caves, while the Metauro Valley is known for cherry production and eel fishing.
The Marche region boasts one of the most varied and beautiful stretches of coastline in Italy, with 17 Blue Flags awarded to its beaches as confirmation. Almost 200 km of coastline where promontories alternate with fine sandy beaches, wonderful beaches accessible only by sea, unspoiled and wild stretches, tourist resorts equipped with all services and comforts, beaches with gravel or pebbles, and natural parks that plunge directly into the Adriatic.
In this regard, it is impossible not to mention the Riviera del Monte Conero, a landscape treasure that extends from the port of Ancona to that of Numana and has been included in the UNESCO list of world heritage sites. Here is the Conero Regional Natural Park, an excellence of the Adriatic coast: it is a protected natural area that surrounds the only coastal promontory up to the Gargano, creating an exceptional panorama where sea and mountain meet. Beaches abound, and among the most popular are those of Senigallia and Numana.
Also much loved is the Civitanova Marche Beach: located in the province of Macerata, it has eight kilometers of mixed gravel, sand, and small pebbles that merge into a clear sea. Equipped and full of services thanks to its beach establishments, it is so large as to allow a wide range of activities, such as beach volleyball and beach soccer.
Furthermore, the region is distinguished by some well-known tourist destinations, such as Pesaro and Fano, of great attraction thanks to the quantity of hotels, restaurants, commercial facilities, and activities suitable for all types of visitors, from families to groups of friends.
